As part of a previous fix we changed which groups are serialized for a user, in order to fix a bug in the default group selector under user preferences.
However, we should only change this when serializing the current user. This change combines the old code-path and the new based on who is serializing.
The user serializer groups method previously relied on the members_visible_groups to determine groups that the user should be able to see, however this setting was intended for visibility of group members (which is entirely different).
The result of this could be seen when choosing a primary group from user preferences -> account, due to the serializer the group name was not visible when members_visible_groups was set to owners.
Instead of the deprecated 'min trust level to allow ignore' in order to reduce the number of deprecation notices in the logs.
This tweaks a few serializers so that the 'can_ignore_users?` property is always coming from the server and properly used on the client-side.
Adds UI elements for registering a passkey and logging in with it. The feature is still in an early stage, interested parties that want to try it can use the `experimental_passkeys` site setting (via Rails console).

This is part 2 (of 3) for passkeys support.
This adds a hidden site setting plus routes and controller actions.
1. registering passkeys
Passkeys are registered in a two-step process. First, `create_passkey`
returns details for the browser to create a passkey. This includes
- a challenge
- the relying party ID and Origin
- the user's secure identifier
- the supported algorithms
- the user's existing passkeys (if any)
Then the browser creates a key with this information, and submits it to
the server via `register_passkey`.
2. authenticating passkeys
A similar process happens here as well. First, a challenge is created
and sent to the browser. Then the browser makes a public key credential
and submits it to the server via `passkey_auth_perform`.
3. renaming/deleting passkeys
These routes allow changing the name of a key and deleting it.
4. checking if session is trusted for sensitive actions
Since a passkey is a password replacement, we want to make sure to confirm the user's identity before allowing adding/deleting passkeys. The u/trusted-session GET route returns success if user has confirmed their session (and failed if user hasn't). In the frontend (in the next PR), we're using these routes to show the password confirmation screen.
The `/u/confirm-session` route allows the user to confirm their session with a password. The latter route's functionality already existed in core, under the 2FA flow, but it has been abstracted into its own here so it can be used independently.

This PR splits up the preference that controls the count vs dot and destination of sidebar links, which is really hard to understand, into 2 simpler checkboxes:
The new preferences/checkboxes are off by default, but there are database migrations to switch the old preference to the new ones so that existing users don't have to update their preferences to keep their preferred behavior of sidebar links when this changed is rolled out.

These accidental inclusions are mostly no-ops (because the method name is also included as an explicit symbol). The mistakes were made more obvious because syntax_tree adjusted the indentation of these methods
In this PR, we introduced an option, that when all authenticators are disabled, but backup codes still exists, user can authenticate with those backup codes. This was reverted as this is not expected behavior.

Instead, when the last authenticator is deleted, backup codes should be deleted as well. Because this disables 2fa, user is asked to confirm that action by typing text.
In addition, UI for 2fa preferences was refreshed.
Currently, we have available three 2fa methods:
- Token-Based Authenticators
- Physical Security Keys
- Two-Factor Backup Codes
If the first two are deleted, user lose visibility of their backup codes, which suggests that 2fa is disabled.
However, when they try to authenticate, the account is locked, and they have to ask admin to fix that problem.
This PR is fixing the issue. User still sees backup codes in their panel and can use them to authenticate.
In next PR, I will improve UI to clearly notify the user when 2fa is fully disabled and when it is still active.
Previously, PM only tags were being routed to the public topic list with
the tag added as a filter. However, the public topic list does not fetch
PMs and hence PM only tags did not provide any value when added to the
Sidebar. This commit changes that by allowing the client to
differentiate PM only tag and thus routes the link to the PM tags show
route.
Counts for PM only tags section links are not supported as of this
commit and will be added in a follow up commit.
As part of this commit, a bug where updating a tag's notification level on the server side does not update the state of the user's tag notification levels on the client side is fixed too.
Configuring staged users to watch categories and tags is a way to sign
them up to get many emails. These emails may be unwanted and get marked
as spam, hurting the site's email deliverability.
Users can opt-in to email notifications by logging on to their
account and configuring their own preferences.
If staff need to be able to configure these preferences on behalf of
staged users, the "allow changing staged user tracking" site setting
can be enabled. Default is to not allow it.

This is a recent regression introduced by https://github.com/discourse/discourse/pull/12937 which makes it so that when looking at a user profile that is not your own, specifically the category and tag notification settings, you would see your own settings instead of the target user. This is only a problem for admins because regular users cannot see these details for other users.
The issue was that we were using `scope` in the serializer, which refers to the current user, rather than using a scope for the target user via `Guardian.new(user)`.
However, on further inspection the `notification_levels_for` method for `TagUser` and `CategoryUser` did not actually need to be accepting an instance of Guardian, all that it was using it for was to check guardian.anonymous? which is just a fancy way of saying user.blank?. Changed this method to just accept a user instead and send the user in from the serializer.
The user may have changed their category or tag tracking settings since a topic was tracked/watched based on those settings in the past. In that case we need to alter the reason message we show them otherwise it is very confusing for the end user to be told they are tracking a topic because of a category, when they are no longer tracking that category.
For example: "You will see a count of new replies because you are tracking this category." becomes: "You will see a count of new replies because you were tracking this category in the past."
To do this, it was necessary to add tag and category tracking info to current user serializer. I improved the serializer code so it only does 3 SQL queries instead of 9 to get the tracking information for tags and categories for the current user.
If the "use_site_small_logo_as_system_avatar" setting is enabled, the site's small logo is displayed as the selected option by the avatar-selector. Choosing a different avatar disables the setting.
The 'Discourse SSO' protocol is being rebranded to DiscourseConnect. This should help to reduce confusion when 'SSO' is used in the generic sense.
This commit aims to:
- Rename `sso_` site settings. DiscourseConnect specific ones are prefixed `discourse_connect_`. Generic settings are prefixed `auth_`
- Add (server-side-only) backwards compatibility for the old setting names, with deprecation notices
- Copy `site_settings` database records to the new names
- Rename relevant translation keys
- Update relevant translations
This commit does **not** aim to:
- Rename any Ruby classes or methods. This might be done in a future commit
- Change any URLs. This would break existing integrations
- Make any changes to the protocol. This would break existing integrations
- Change any functionality. Further normalization across DiscourseConnect and other auth methods will be done separately
The risks are:
- There is no backwards compatibility for site settings on the client-side. Accessing auth-related site settings in Javascript is fairly rare, and an error on the client side would not be security-critical.
- If a plugin is monkey-patching parts of the auth process, changes to locale keys could cause broken error messages. This should also be unlikely. The old site setting names remain functional, so security-related overrides will remain working.
A follow-up commit will be made with a post-deploy migration to delete the old `site_settings` rows.
This adds a new table UserNotificationSchedules which stores monday-friday start and ends times that each user would like to receive notifications (with a Boolean enabled to remove the use of the schedule). There is then a background job that runs every day and creates do_not_disturb_timings for each user with an enabled notification schedule. The job schedules timings 2 days in advance. The job is designed so that it can be run at any point in time, and it will not create duplicate records.
When a users saves their notification schedule, the schedule processing service will run and schedule do_not_disturb_timings. If the user should be in DND due to their schedule, the user will immediately be put in DND (message bus publishes this state).
The UI for a user's notification schedule is in user -> preferences -> notifications. By default every day is 8am - 5pm when first enabled.
Moderators should not be able to see `UserSerializer#group_users` and `UserSerializer#second_factor_enabled` of other users.
Impact of leaking this is low because the information leaked is not
exploitable.
Like "default watching" and "default tracking" categories option now the "regular" categories support is added. It will be useful for sites that are muted by default. The user option will be displayed only if `mute_all_categories_by_default` site setting is enabled.
* FEATURE: Allow List for PMs
This feature adds a new user setting that is disabled by default that
allows them to specify a list of users that are allowed to send them
private messages. This way they don't have to maintain a large list of
users they don't want to here from and instead just list the people they
know they do want. Staff will still always be able to send messages to
the user.
* Update PR based on feedback
Adds a new route `/u/{username}/card.json`, which has a reduced number of fields. This change is behind a hidden site setting, so we can test compatibility before rolling out.
* DEV: Remove unused omit_stats variable from user serializer
This was hard-coded to true in a8b5192efd, and is no longer used anywhere
* Remove attribute declarations
* If a staff user created only a security key as their single 2FA option. they continued to be prompted to create a 2FA option because we only considered this condition satisfied if a TOTP was added.
* The condition is now satisfied if TOTP OR security keys are enabled.
* FEATURE: Site setting/ui to allow users to set their primary group

`UserProfile` is created in a callback after the user has been created.
As such, it should be impossible for a user to not have a blank
`UserProfile`. This was also improved in
4f5c9bb8d3.
Apparently is is possible to have a user without a user_profile. This
fix will return nil for any user_profile fields during serialization
(like the after delete web hook) instead of blowing up.
This reduces chances of errors where consumers of strings mutate inputs
and reduces memory usage of the app.
Test suite passes now, but there may be some stuff left, so we will run
a few sites on a branch prior to merging
`Upload#url` is more likely and can change from time to time. When it
does changes, we don't want to have to look through multiple tables to
ensure that the URLs are all up to date. Instead, we simply associate
uploads properly to `UserProfile` so that it does not have to replicate
the URLs in the table.
