Due to default CSP web workers instantiated from CDN based assets are still
treated as "same-origin" meaning that we had no way of safely instansiating
a web worker from a theme.
This limits the theme system and adds the arbitrary restriction that WASM
based components can not be safely used.
To resolve this limitation all js assets in about.json are also cached on
local domain.
{
"name": "Header Icons",
"assets" : {
"worker" : "assets/worker.js"
}
}
This can then be referenced in JS via:
settings.theme_uploads_local.worker
local_js_assets are unconditionally served from the site directly and
bypass the entire CDN, using the pre-existing JavascriptCache
Previous to this change this code was completely dormant on sites which
used s3 based uploads, this reuses the very well tested and cached asset
system on s3 based sites.
Note, when creating local_js_assets it is highly recommended to keep the
assets lean and keep all the heavy working in CDN based assets. For example
wasm files can still live on the CDN but the lean worker that loads it can
live on local.
This change unlocks wasm in theme components, so wasm is now also allowed
in `theme_authorized_extensions`
* more usages of upload.content
* add a specific test for upload.content
* Adjust logic to ensure that after upgrades we still get a cached local js
on save
Previously certain images may lead to convert / identify to run for unreasonable
amounts of time
This adds a maximum amount of time these commands can run prior to forcing
them to stop
Force pushing a commit to a theme repository used to break the updater,
because the system was not able to count the commits behind the old and
new version. This operation failed because a force push deleted the old
commits.
The user was prompted with a simple "500 server error" message.
Add update for fetching git commits if they do not exist, eg with
clone --depth 1 - only can fetch via git fetch --depth 1 {remote} {ref}
the ref needs to be a full, non-ambiguous reference.
Adds a new rake task `plugin:checkout_compatible_all` and
`plugin:checkout_compatible[plugin-name]` that check out compatible plugin
versions.
Supports a .discourse-compatibility file in the root of plugins and themes that
list out a plugin's compatibility with certain discourse versions:
eg: .discourse-compatibility
```
2.5.0.beta6: some-git-hash
2.4.4.beta4: some-git-tag
2.2.0: git-reference
```
This ensures older Discourse installs are able to find and install older
versions of plugins without intervention, through the manifest only.
It iterates through the versions in descending order. If the current Discourse
version matches an item in the manifest, it checks out the listed plugin target.
If the Discourse version is greater than an item in the manifest, it checks out
the next highest version listed in the manifest.
If no versions match, it makes no change.
* when importing a private theme using the themes:install rake task the SSH key is written out to a file for use by the git-clone command
* if the private key is written out without a newline at end-of-file (i.e. after it's been stripped) it's not recognized as a valid key by SSH
* so: don't strip it when writing it out, we should be fine
`FileUtils.cd` and `Dir.chdir` cause the working directory to change for the entire process. We run sidekiq jobs, hijacked requests and deferred jobs in threads, which can make working directory changes have unintended side-effects.
- Add a rubocop rule to warn about usage of Dir.chdir and FileUtils.cd
- Added rubocop:disable for scripts used outside the app
- Refactored code using cd to use alternative methods
- Temporarily skipped the rubocop check for lib/backup_restore. This will require more complex refactoring, so I will create a separate PR for review
* FEATURE: Adds an extra protection layer when decompressing files.
* Rename exporter/importer to zip importer. Update old locale
* Added a new composite class to decompress a file with multiple strategies
* Set max file size inside a site setting
* Ensure that file is deleted after compression
* Sanitize path and files before compressing/decompressing
Zeitwerk simplifies working with dependencies in dev and makes it easier reloading class chains.
We no longer need to use Rails "require_dependency" anywhere and instead can just use standard
Ruby patterns to require files.
This is a far reaching change and we expect some followups here.
This reduces chances of errors where consumers of strings mutate inputs
and reduces memory usage of the app.
Test suite passes now, but there may be some stuff left, so we will run
a few sites on a branch prior to merging
