This tab doesn't really provide anything useful, and can be quite
confusing in some cases. Each plugin is already listed below, and
you can navigate to their settings from there. We want to move away
from the catch-all Plugins category for site settings. Core plugins are
not shown in this list as at 97a812f022.
This commit contains a few improvements:
* Use LinkTo instead of a button with a weird action referencing the
controller to navigate to the filtered settings for a plugin
* Add an AdminPlugin model with tracked properties and use that when
toggling the setting on/off and in the templates
* Make it so the Settings button for a plugin navigates to the correct
site setting category instead of always just going to the generic
"plugins" one if possible
DEV: Display fuzzy site setting search results below direct matches
When searching for site settings, in the results under the ALL category
all the fuzzy search results were showing first followed by any direct
matches. This change adjusts that so that fuzzy searches show below
direct matches.
Fuzzy results are now also sorted based on their gap calculation in
ascending order.
Sometimes the fuzzy search would return too many site setting results
making it hard to find what you are searching for. This change still
allows for fuzzy searching but tightens up the criteria for being a
fuzzy match.
One example is searching for 'cheer', a term associated with a plugin,
previously returned ~55 search results. With this change it will return
~13 (Actual numbers depend on how many plugins your instance has).
Another example is searching for 'digest'. Previously returned ~37
results and now will return ~14.

Previously, we had a `showFooter` boolean on the application controller which would be set true/false in various routes by different routes/controllers. A global `routeWillChange` hook would set it `false` before every route transition, and the destination route/controller would have to set it `true` for the footer to show correctly.
This commit replaces that with a new 'declarative' system. Instead of having to set the value true/false manually, UIs which need the footer to be hidden can simply include the `{{hide-application-footer}}` helper in their template when needed. The helper/service will automatically keep track of all the current invocations of that helper, and only show the footer when there are 0 invocations.
This significantly simplifies things, and removes the need for many observers and controller injections, both of which are considered 'code smells' in modern Ember applications.
In this commit 2.5 years ago, variables for showOnUserCard and showOnProfile were removed, but we still used them in the component. e29605b
This corrects the variable names and adds a test to confirm the text is now shown.
This commit makes some visual tweaks to the admin panel plugin list, and introduces functional 'toggle switches' for admins to enable/disable plugins more easily.

* Why was this change necessary?
The counters for flagged posts in the user's profile and user index from
the admin view include flags that were rejected, ignored or pending
review. This introduces unnecessary noise. Also the flagged posts
counter in the user's profile includes custom flags which add further
noise to this signal.

* Modifying User#flags_received_count to return posts with only approved
standard flags

- Convert `admin-incoming-email` modal to component-based API
- Testing that the modal was working in local development was extremely challenging due to the need for `rejected` and `bounced` emails. Something that is not easy to stub in a local dev environment. To make this process more smooth for future developers I have added a new rake task:

The gjs/gts formats are a new pattern for authoring Ember components. This commit introduces support for these patterns to our build pipeline for core/plugins, and converts a handful of components to use the new format. It also introduces relevant updates to our linting config, and to our sample vscode configuration.

Since 0fa92529ed, helpers can now be implemented as plain JS functions. This makes them much easier to write/read, and also makes them usable in `<template>` gjs files.
Recently we started giving admins a notice in the advice panel when their translations have become outdated due to changes in core. However, we didn't include any additional information.
This PR adds more information about the outdated translation inside the site text edit page, together with an option to dismiss the warning.
011ba5b9 slightly changed the way the staff-action-log route is activated. It's now possible for `deserializeQueryParam` to be called with a null value, so we need to deal with that case.
This route is currently untested - we'll follow-up with another commit to add some.
This PR adds a feature to help admins stay up-to-date with their translations. We already have protections preventing admins from problems when they update their overrides. This change adds some protection in the other direction (where translations change in core due to an upgrade) by creating a notice for admins when defaults have changed.
Terms:
- In the case where Discourse core changes the default translation, the translation override is considered "outdated".
- In the case above where interpolation keys were changed from the ones the override is using, it is considered "invalid".
- If none of the above applies, the override is considered "up to date".
How does it work?
There are a few pieces that makes this work:
- When an admin creates or updates a translation override, we store the original translation at the time of write. (This is used to detect changes later on.)
- There is a background job that runs once every day and checks for outdated and invalid overrides, and marks them as such.
- When there are any outdated or invalid overrides, a notice is shown in admin dashboard with a link to the text customization page.
Known limitations
The link from the dashboard links to the default locale text customization page. Given there might be invalid overrides in multiple languages, I'm not sure what we could do here. Consideration for future improvement.

This commit adds 2 new site settings `default_sidebar_link_to_filtered_list` and `default_sidebar_show_count_of_new_items` to control the default values for the navigation menu preferences that were added in the linked commit (`sidebar_link_to_filtered_list` and `sidebar_show_count_of_new_items` respectively).
This is the first of a number of PRs aimed at helping admins manage their translation overrides. It simply adds a list of available interpolation keys below the input field when editing an override.
It also includes custom interpolation key.
Fixes an issue where saving a theme translation would reset unsaved
changes made to other theme translations.
Also cleans up unused `saveSettings` and `saveTranslations` actions.

Communities can use sidebar or header dropdown, therefore navigation menu is a better name settings in 2 places:
- Old user sidebar preferences;
- Site setting about default tags and categories.
We have been struggling lately finding site settings due to 30 setting limit
This was introduced for performance reasons a while back but is no longer as
needed given that ember is faster.
Additionally searching is hard, so allow people to use fuzzy search against
setting name.
As part of another regression, we realized that the plugins tab is visible to moderators, but they cannot interact with anything inside without triggering authorization errors.
This change hides the plugin tab for non-admin users.
In some languages, labels on the site settings navigation menu
get truncated. This adds titles to menu items, so users can see
untruncated labels on hover.
Moving the `grantBadge` action out of the actions hash caused it to clash with a method of the same name from the GrantBadgeController mixin. This commit renames the action.
The implementation previously generated a descriptor with an `initializer()`, and bound the function to the `this` context of the initializer. In native class syntax, the initializer of a descriptor is only called once, with a `this` context of the constructor, not the instance.
This commit updates the implementation so that it generates the bound function on-demand using a getter. This is the same strategy employed by ember's built-in `@action` decorator.
Unfortunately, this use of a getter means that the `@observes` decorator does not support being directly chained to `@debounce`. It throws the error "`observer must be provided a function or an observer definition`". The workaround is to put the observer on its own function, which then calls the debounced function. Given that we're aiming to reduce our usage of `@observes`, we've accepted the need for this workaround rather than spending the time to patch the implementation of `@observes`.
Async, modern syntax, no `on()` component hooks, const extraction, sorted props, template tweaks, and a small filtering bugfix (filtering could throw errors after saving a category-selection setting)
This commit implements many changes to topic and comments embedding. It
deprecates the class_name field from EmbeddableHost and suggests using
the className parameter. discourse_username parameter has been
deprecated and it will fetch it from embedded site from the author or
discourse-username meta.

When installing themes using the "Install this theme component" button
on meta.discourse.org, we pass the repo name and URL via query params.
However, these stick. So if a user cancels the installation, on the
next navigation to the same route, they'll see the modal again.
This PR clears the query params of the controller when dismissing the
modal.
The JS component definition is in the admin bundle, but the template was in the main bundle. This was identified while attempting to colocate component templates in the discourse/app directory
This commits adds the ability to add a header to the embedded comments
view. One use case for this is to allow `postMessage` communication
between the comments iframe and the parent frame, for example, when
toggling the theme of the parent webpage.
In a private plugin, we need to show an error message containing HTML
when the Grant Admin action fails. This change introduces a new flag
(`html_message: true`) that when used will allow the dialog to render
the HTML tags in the error message correctly.
The `tagName` argument is now deprecated. This commit uses a codemod (https://github.com/discourse/discourse-ember-codemods/tree/main/transforms/extract-plugin-outlet-tagname) to automatically remove the `@tagName` from all PluginOutlet invocations, and create a matching wrapper element so that the HTML structure is unchanged. We may want to remove some/all of these wrappers entirely in future, but that would be a riskier change which we should tackle on a case-by-case basis.

User options were serialized at the root level of CurrentUserSerializer,
but UserSerializer has a user_option field. This inconsistency caused

The templates of modified routes in this PR are already automatically inserted into `{{outlet}}`s.
Previously if a specific plugin route was not available (e.g. there was an error loading the plugin's JS due to an ad blocker), the entire page would fail to load. This commit updates the behavior to catch this kind of issue and display a user-friendly message at the top of the screen.
Previously, we didn't have a site-wide setting to set the default behavior for user profile visibility and user presence features. But we already have a user preference for that.
The previous sidebar default tags and categories implementation did not
allow for a user to configure their sidebar to have no categories or
tags. This commit changes how the defaults are applied. When a user is being created,
we create the SidebarSectionLink records based on the `default_sidebar_categories` and
`default_sidebar_tags` site settings. SidebarSectionLink records are
only created for categories and tags which the user has visibility on at
the point of user creation.
With this change, we're also adding the ability for admins to apply
changes to the `default_sidebar_categories` and `default_sidebar_tags`
site settings historically when changing their site setting. When a new
category/tag has been added to the default, the new category/tag will be
added to the sidebar for all users if the admin elects to apply the changes historically.
Like wise when a tag/category is removed, the tag/category will be
removed from the sidebar for all users if the admin elects to apply the
changes historically.

Lone hbs files in the `/components` are automatically assumed to be template-only Glimmer components. The `templateOnly()` stub is only required when templates are in the `/templates/components` directory.
Debouncing inline anonymous functions does not work.
This fixes all instances of that error by extracting the function or using the new `@debounce(delay)` decorator

In many cases, such as for `a` elements, we also need to prevent default event handling to avoid unwanted side effects. While the `{{action}}` modifier internally calls `event.preventDefault()`, we need to handle these cases more explicitly. For this purpose, this PR also adds the [ember-event-helpers](https://github.com/buschtoens/ember-event-helpers) dependency so we can use the `prevent-default` handler. For instance:

Note that `action` has not in general been refactored away as a helper yet. In general, all event handlers should be methods on the corresponding component and referenced directly (e.g. `{{on "click" this.doSomething}}`). Thus this refactor will also be extensive and probably deserves a separate PR.
Note: This work was done to complement #17767 by minimizing the potential impact of the `action` modifier override, which uses private API and arguably should be replaced with an AST transform.

The generate RSA key and import theme routes worked separate from each
other. The RSA key returned both the public and private key and it was
the frontend which posted the private key back to the server. With this
commit, only the public key is necessary as the server keeps a map of
public and private keys that is used to get the private key back from
a public key.
When installing private themes and theme components, the public key does
not show until the administrator types a valid Git repo URL. The regular
expression that checked the URL was too strict and it required the URL
to end with ".git".
This adds a new framework for accessible dialogs that will eventually replace bootbox. Under the hood, it uses the a11y-dialog package and an in-repo Ember addon. See PR for usage details.

With both of those changes, there is no logic left in the backing class, so we can switch to `templateOnly()` which is significantly faster. (granted, not a big deal for a component like this, but it makes for a good demonstration)
A public key must be added to GitHub when installing private themes.
When the process happens asynchronously (for example if the admin does
not have admin permissions to the GitHub repository), installing
private themes becomes very difficult.
In this case, the Discourse admin can partially install the theme by
letting Discourse save the private key, create a placeholder theme and
give the admin a public key to be used as a deploy key. After the key
is installed, the admin can finish theme installation by pressing a
button on the theme page.
Currently we can’t add a case-sensitive watched word if another one
exists with a different case. For example, the existing watched word
`Meta` has been created and is case-sensitive. Now an admin tries to add
`metA` while marking it as case-sensitive too, this won’t work and the
word won’t be added.
This patch changes this behavior by allowing to add same words that have
different cases, so the example above will now work as expected.
We still check for uniqueness but case-sensitivy is now taken
into account. It means that if the watched word `meta` already exists
and is not case-sensitive then it will not be possible to add `Meta`
(case-sensitive or not) as `meta` already matches every possible
variations of this word.
Follow up to 4d3c1ceb44, this commit
shows the SMTP response in the admin email sent list and also moves the
topic/post link into a new column. Reply key is now in its own column.
* FEATURE: Add case-sensitivity flag to watched_words
Currently, all watched words are matched case-insensitively. This flag
allows a watched word to be flagged for case-sensitive matching.
To allow allow for backwards compatibility the flag is set to false by
default.
* FEATURE: Support case-sensitive creation of Watched Words via API
Extend admin creation and upload of Watched Words to support case
sensitive flag. This lays the ground work for supporting
case-insensitive matching of Watched Words.
Support for an extra column has also been introduced for the Watched
Words upload CSV file. The new column structure is as follows:

WordWatcher's word_matcher_regexp now returns a list of regular
expressions instead of one case-insensitive regular expression.
With the ability to flag a Watched Word as case-sensitive, an action
can have words of both sensitivities.This makes the use of the global
Regexp::IGNORECASE flag added to all words problematic.
To get around platform limitations around the use of subexpression level
switches/flags, a list of regular expressions is returned instead, one for each
case sensitivity.
Word matching has also been updated to use this list of regular expressions
instead of one.

Since a list is returned now instead of a single regular expression,
change `word_matcher_regexp` to `word_matcher_regexp_list` to better communicate
this change.
* DEV: Incorporate WordWatcher updates from upstream
Resolve conflicts and ensure apply_to_text does not remove non-word characters in matches
that aren't at the beginning of the line.
Sometimes the user list was incomplete when multiple requests were
created to fetch next pages. If the responses did not arrive in the
same order as the requests then only the last response was parsed.
This is a follow up commit to a0f4c7fe88.
Also, the change in insert-hyperlink (from `this.linkUrl.indexOf("http") === -1` to `!this.linkUrl.startsWith("http")`) was intentional fix: we don't want to prevent users from looking up topics with http in their titles.
This switches us to use the modern ember resolver package, and re-implements a number of our custom resolution rules within it. The legacy resolver remains for now, and is used as a fallback if the modern resolver is unable to resolve a package. When this happens, a warning will be printed to the console.

7caaee2 introduced a duplicate definition of the component JS. This likely happened because we had the template defined under `javascripts/discourse`, and the component JS defined under `javascript/admin`. This commit removes the duplicate definition, and moves the template to the admin addon

We would like to colocate templates but, when no backing class exists, colocated templates extend `templateOnly` instead of `Ember.Component`. Generating the backing class helps avoid any behavioral changes.
We can also run the `tagless-ember-components-codemod` to put the tags into the templates at which point we could convert these back to template-only components.
At some point in the past we decided to rename the 'regular' notification state of topics/categories to 'normal'. However, some UI copy was missed when the initial renaming was done so this commit changes the spots that were missed to the new name.

`block` action by default but if changing manually the action in the URL
to `flag` for example, then this action will be selected and uploaded
watched words will be categorised as `flag` no matter what.
The problem lies with how the component works: it’s an Uppy object where
extra data is defined to provide an action key to the server but when
navigating to another listed action, while this action key is properly
updated on the component itself, the underlying Uppy object has already
been created and doesn’t care about the new value.
This patch solves this by using the `_perFileData` method instead of
`data`: the former is merged just before uploading a file whereas the
latter is used when the Uppy object is created.
Twitter does not allow SVGs to be used for twitter:image
metadata (see https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-for-websites/cards/overview/markup)
so we should fall back to the site logo if the image option
provided to `crawlable_meta_data` or SiteSetting.site_twitter_summary_large_image_url
is an SVG, and do not add the meta tag for twitter:image at all
if the site logo is an SVG.
Before this change, we were using the labels from the original chartData to the chart builder, and we would then apply our collapse function on each dataset which could change the labels and cause a mismatch.
This was very visible when using quarterly periods on consolidated pageviews.
This was causing unexpected behaviors on production builds. And also on firefox on local environnement, however the issues was slightly different.
- production chrome: colors don't load
- dev firefox: colors don't change when selecting a different color set
String.prototype.substr() is deprecated so we replace it with String.prototype.slice() which works similarily but isn't deprecated.

2FA support in Discourse was added and grown gradually over the years: we first
added support for TOTP for logins, then we implemented backup codes, and last
but not least, security keys. 2FA usage was initially limited to logging in,
but it has been expanded and we now require 2FA for risky actions such as
adding a new admin to the site.
As a result of this gradual growth of the 2FA system, technical debt has
accumulated to the point where it has become difficult to require 2FA for more
actions. We now have 5 different 2FA UI implementations and each one has to
support all 3 2FA methods (TOTP, backup codes, and security keys) which makes
it difficult to maintain a consistent UX for these different implementations.
Moreover, there is a lot of repeated logic in the server-side code behind these
5 UI implementations which hinders maintainability even more.
This commit is the first step towards repaying the technical debt: it builds a
system that centralizes as much as possible of the 2FA server-side logic and
UI. The 2 main components of this system are:
1. A dedicated page for 2FA with support for all 3 methods.
2. A reusable server-side class that centralizes the 2FA logic (the
`SecondFactor::AuthManager` class).
From a top-level view, the 2FA flow in this new system looks like this:
1. User initiates an action that requires 2FA;
2. Server is aware that 2FA is required for this action, so it redirects the
user to the 2FA page if the user has a 2FA method, otherwise the action is
performed.
3. User submits the 2FA form on the page;
4. Server validates the 2FA and if it's successful, the action is performed and
the user is redirected to the previous page.
A more technically-detailed explanation/documentation of the new system is
available as a comment at the top of the `lib/second_factor/auth_manager.rb`
file. Please note that the details are not set in stone and will likely change
in the future, so please don't use the system in your plugins yet.
Since this is a new system that needs to be tested, we've decided to migrate
only the 2FA for adding a new admin to the new system at this time (in this
commit). Our plan is to gradually migrate the remaining 2FA implementations to
the new system.

We need this in other places, this commit moves clipboardCopy
to the utilities.js lib. Had to remove use of Promise as well because
lib/utilities cannot import it, otherwise it will cause a mini racer error.
Adds up and down buttons next to the inputs of value lists when there is more than 1 item present. This helps to re-order the items in the value lists if necessary.
This commit adds a hover effect for drag and drop in
the admin emoji uploader. It also changes the "Add New
Emoji" button to open the file selector; previously it
was useless because it was disabled unless a name was
entered (which is not even a requirement for the emoji)
and also it didn't actually do anything on click even
if it wasn't disabled.
Now we have a way of adding files without having to drag
and drop them, which is nice.
Also in this PR, there was no indication before that the upload was
complete apart from the button becoming enabled again.
This commit adds the highlight class to the emoji list
and removes it once the highlight fade animation is done,
like we do for new posts.
An admin could search for all screened ip addresses in a block by
using wildcards. 192.168.* returned all IPs in range 192.168.0.0/16.
This feature allows admins to search for a single IP address in all
screened IP blocks. 192.168.0.1 returns all IP blocks that match it,
for example 192.168.0.0/16.

This commit should be a no-op for all existing core outlets. Outlets which are introduced by themes/plugins may see a change in behavior, and should follow the steps below if they want to maintain their previous behavior.
`tagName="" connectorTagName=""` is almost always the correct choice for plugin outlets. 40eba8cd introduced a `noTags=true` shortcut which achieved this, and left a comment saying it should be the future default. This commit does exactly that. To avoid any breaking changes for plugins, all existing plugin outlets have been reviewed and adjusted by following this logic:
1) If `noTags=true`, remove the `noTags` parameter, and do not complete any further steps
2) If `tagName` is not specified, set `tagName="span"` (the previous default)
3) If `connectorTagName` is not specified, set `selectorTagName="div"` (the previous default)
4) If `tagName=""`, remove it
5) If `connectorTagName=""`, remove it

This commit adds a check that runs regularly as per
2d68e5d942 which tests the
credentials of groups with SMTP or IMAP enabled. If any issues
are found with those credentials a high priority problem is added to the
admin dashboard.
This commit also formats the admin dashboard differently if
there are high priority problems, bringing them to the top of
the list and highlighting them.
The problem will be cleared if the issue is fixed before the next
problem check, or if the group's settings are updated with a valid
credential.
Now that d5e380e5c1 has been
committed there is nothing in the codebase that uses either
resumable.js or the old backup-uploader component.
R.I.P resumable.js
This commit removes the enable_experimental_backup_uploader site
setting and the flags in backups-index.hbs to make the uppy
backup uploader the main one from now on.
A follow-up commit will delete the old backup uploader code and
also remove resumable.js from the project.
This commit introduces scheduled problem checks for the admin dashboard, which are long running or otherwise cumbersome problem checks that will be run every 10 minutes rather than every time the dashboard is loaded. If these scheduled checks add a problem, the problem will remain until it is cleared or until the scheduled job runs again.
An example of a check that should be scheduled is validating credentials against an external provider.
This commit also introduces the concept of a `priority` to the problems generated by `AdminDashboardData` and the scheduled checks. This is `low` by default, and can be set to `high`, but this commit does not change any part of the UI with this information, only adds a CSS class.
I will be making a follow up PR to check group SMTP credentials.
In the composer, we already only allow for S3 multipart uploads
if enable_direct_s3_uploads is true, so in the backups uploader
that is based on Uppy we want to do the same thing. In future
if self-hosters need some way to not use S3 multipart in these
scenarios for whatever reason we can revisit this then (which
should be as simple as adding a enable_multipart_s3_uploads site
setting).
Some reports, like the Web Crawler User Agents report, have very long strings that need to be truncated when displayed. However, there is no way to see the full value without exporting the report or inspecting the elements using dev tools. This PR set a `title` attribute with the full value to the reports `<td>` elements so that the full value is shown on hover.
This takes the uppy chunking algorithm and combines it with some
form submission from resumable.js for parity with the current
backup controller to make local backup uploads work with uppy.
We can then use this to replace the resumable-upload component
and the resumable.js library from our codebase, once stable.
This is disabled by default, so people using local backups will not
be affected. The enable_experimental_backup_uploader site setting
must be enabled for this to work.

This PR introduces a new `enable_experimental_backup_uploads` site setting (default false and hidden), which when enabled alongside `enable_direct_s3_uploads` will allow for direct S3 multipart uploads of backup .tar.gz files.
To make multipart external uploads work with both the S3BackupStore and the S3Store, I've had to move several methods out of S3Store and into S3Helper, including:
* presigned_url
* create_multipart
* abort_multipart
* complete_multipart
* presign_multipart_part
* list_multipart_parts
Then, S3Store and S3BackupStore either delegate directly to S3Helper or have their own special methods to call S3Helper for these methods. FileStore.temporary_upload_path has also removed its dependence on upload_path, and can now be used interchangeably between the stores. A similar change was made in the frontend as well, moving the multipart related JS code out of ComposerUppyUpload and into a mixin of its own, so it can also be used by UppyUploadMixin.
Some changes to ExternalUploadManager had to be made here as well. The backup direct uploads do not need an Upload record made for them in the database, so they can be moved to their final S3 resting place when completing the multipart upload.
This changeset is not perfect; it introduces some special cases in UploadController to handle backups that was previously in BackupController, because UploadController is where the multipart routes are located. A subsequent pull request will pull these routes into a module or some other sharing pattern, along with hooks, so the backup controller and the upload controller (and any future controllers that may need them) can include these routes in a nicer way.
This commit, while changing the watched word uploader to use
uppy, also fixes a minor bug with the UppyUploadMixin where
the file input's value was not cleared after reset, which
prevented subsequent file uploads. The composer mixin already
has this fix.
Instead of using image-uploader, which relies on the old
UploadMixin, we can now use the uppy-image-uploader which
uses the new UppyUploadMixin which is stable enough and
supports both regular XHR uploads and direct S3 uploads,
controlled by a site setting (default to XHR).
At some point it may make sense to rename uppy-image-uploader
back to image-uploader, once we have gone through plugins
etc. and given a bit of deprecation time period.
This commit also fixes `for_private_message`, `for_site_setting`,
and `pasted` flags not being sent via uppy uploads onto the
UploadCreator, both via regular XHR uploads and also through
external/multipart uploads.
The uploaders changed are:
* site setting images
* badge images
* category logo
* category background
* group flair
* profile background
* profile card background
The host's category was successfully updated on the database, but the category property was not properly set when rendering the component for the first time.
* DEV: Remove HTML setting type and sanitization logic.
We concluded that we don't want settings to contain HTML, so I'm removing the setting type and sanitization logic. Additionally, we no longer allow the global-notice text to contain HTML.
I searched for usages of this setting type in the `all-the-plugins` repo and found none, so I haven't added a migration for existing settings.
* Mark Global notices containing links as HTML Safe.
Administrators can use second factor to confirm granting admin access
without using email. The old method of confirmation via email is still
used as a fallback when second factor is unavailable.
Translations are often multi-line. Using a regular `<input>` doesn't allow newlines, so if you try to edit a multiline theme translation, all the line breaks will be removed.
This commit updates the theme translations UI to use `<textarea>`, just like the core translation editing UI.
Major changes included:
- better support for screen readers
- trapping focus in modals
- better tabbing order in composer
- alerts on no content found/number of items found
- better autofocus in modals
- mini-tag-chooser is now a multi-select component
- each multi-select-component will now display selection on one row
* FIX: Revoking admin or moderator status doesn't require refresh to delete/anonymize/merge user
On the /admin/users/<id>/<username> page, there are action buttons that are either visible or hidden depending on a few fields from the AdminDetailsSerializer: `can_be_deleted`, `can_be_anonymized`, `can_be_merged`, `can_delete_all_posts`.
These fields are updated when granting/revoking admin or moderator status. However, those updates were not being reflected on the page. E.g. if a user is granted moderation privileges, the 'anonymize user' and 'merge' buttons still appear on the page, which is inconsistent with the backend state of the user. It requires refreshing the page to update the state.
This commit fixes that issue, by syncing the client model state with the server state when handling a successful response from the server. Now, when revoking privileges, the buttons automatically appear without refreshing the page. Similarly, when granting moderator privileges, the buttons automatically disappear without refreshing the page.
* Add detailed user response to spec for changed routes.
Add tests to verify that the revoke_moderation, grant_moderation, and revoke_admin routes return a response formatted according to the AdminDetailedUserSerializer.
This PR adds a hover title to a few columns on the admin users' page
/admin/users/list/active
The hover title will show the date in full format on those columns with shortened dates
Using an invalid value was allowed. This commit tries to automatically
fix the color by adding missing # symbol or will show an error to the
user if it is not possible and it is not a CSS color either.
Currently when bulk-awarding a badge that can be granted multiple times, users in the CSV file are granted the badge once no matter how many times they're listed in the file and only if they don't have the badge already.
This PR adds a new option to the Badge Bulk Award feature so that it's possible to grant users a badge even if they already have the badge and as many times as they appear in the CSV file.

Adds a site setting that designates default penalty values in hours.
Silence/suspend modals will auto-fill in the default values, but otherwise
will still allow moderators to pick and overwrite values as normal.

etc.
Penalty counts are forgiven at the same rate as tl3 promotion requirements do.

There is a big difference between regular watched words and regular
expressions and this has been confusing in the past. This notice adds
an explanation.
This commit also reorganizes the code of the test modal.
Note that this commit will also disable daily grouping for datasets with more than 30 data points. This will also smartly do the grouping by month when grouping a full year.
It was not clear that replace watched words can be used to replace text
with URLs. This introduces a new watched word type that makes it easier
to understand.
1. It defaults to `cache: true` already
2. Setting it to `false` for non-GET request doesn't do anything
3. We were correcting `cache: false` GET requests to use `cache: true`
…so setting it to anything at all, for any type of request doesn't make sense (anymore)
When editing the files for a theme in the admin dashboard, typing "cmd+s" (a common key-binding to save in most text editors) used to engage the browser's default "save page" dialogue.
This commit adds a key-binding to the ace editor that saves the file.
Now, the "cmd+s" (and "ctrl+s" for windows) key-binding does the same action as the save button.
When the admin creates a new custom field they can specify if that field should be searchable or not.
That setting is taken into consideration for quick search results.
Note that this is only applied on date-input and not the old date-picker for now.
This commit is also slightly modifying admin report dates form to ensure the native picker is correctly used, as a result: it doesn’t auto refresh on date change and fixes a border bug.
To add an extra layer of security, we sanitize settings before shipping them to the client. We don't sanitize those that have the "html" type.
The CookedPostProcessor already uses Loofah for sanitization, so I chose to also use it for this. I added it to our gemfile since we installed it as a transitive dependency.
Find & Replace and Autotag watched words were not completely exported
and import did not work with these either. This commit changes the
input and output format to CSV, which allows for a secondary column.
This change is backwards compatible because a CSV file with only one
column has one value per line.
Currently the process of adding a custom image to badge is quite clunky; you have to upload your image to a topic, and then copy the image URL and pasting it in a text field. Besides being clucky, if the topic or post that contains the image is deleted, the image will be garbage-collected in a few days and the badge will lose the image because the application is not that the image is referenced by a badge.
This commit improves that by adding a proper image uploader widget for badge images.
Some git repos have a different ssh url scheme than github and we should
support them.
This change updates our regex format to account for repos that don't
start with "git", but are still valid ssh urls.
Also I added some tests to account for the various formats and to ensure
we don't show the public key when using https urls.

This commit includes other various improvements to watched words.
auto_silence_first_post_regex site setting was removed because it overlapped
with 'require approval' watched words.
The 'Discourse SSO' protocol is being rebranded to DiscourseConnect. This should help to reduce confusion when 'SSO' is used in the generic sense.
This commit aims to:
- Rename `sso_` site settings. DiscourseConnect specific ones are prefixed `discourse_connect_`. Generic settings are prefixed `auth_`
- Add (server-side-only) backwards compatibility for the old setting names, with deprecation notices
- Copy `site_settings` database records to the new names
- Rename relevant translation keys
- Update relevant translations
This commit does **not** aim to:
- Rename any Ruby classes or methods. This might be done in a future commit
- Change any URLs. This would break existing integrations
- Make any changes to the protocol. This would break existing integrations
- Change any functionality. Further normalization across DiscourseConnect and other auth methods will be done separately
The risks are:
- There is no backwards compatibility for site settings on the client-side. Accessing auth-related site settings in Javascript is fairly rare, and an error on the client side would not be security-critical.
- If a plugin is monkey-patching parts of the auth process, changes to locale keys could cause broken error messages. This should also be unlikely. The old site setting names remain functional, so security-related overrides will remain working.
A follow-up commit will be made with a post-deploy migration to delete the old `site_settings` rows.
This PR is the first step towards replacing our `{{user-selector}}` and eventually deprecating and removing it from our codebase. Some of `{{user-selector}}` problems are:
1. It's called `{{user-selector}}`, but in reality in can also select groups and emails.
2. It's an Ember component, yet it doesn't have a handlebars template and uses jQuery to render itself and modify the DOM. An example of this problem is when you want to clear the selected users programmatically, see [this](6c155dba77/app/assets/javascripts/discourse/app/components/user-selector.js (L179-L185)).
3. We now have select kit which does very similar things but a lot better.
This PR introduces `{{email-group-user-chooser}}` which is meant to replace `{{user-selector}}`. It extends select kit and has the same features that `{{user-selector}}` has. `{{user-selector}}` is still used in a few places in core, but they'll all be replaced with the new component in a separate commit.
Once `{{user-selector}}` is not used anywhere in core, it'll be deprecated and then removed after the 2.7 release.
The user summary's delete button UX relied on the "admin-user.js" destroy function, which was called through the "admin-tools" service. After #11724, we no longer put UX behavior on Ember models.
We only want to warn admins when both settings are enabled. When "set locale from accept language header" setting is enabled, the user locale will be set based on the header when they register an account on the site, which could be confusing.
- Improve warning message.
- Only display the warning if the language has a fallback and either "allow_user_locale", or "set_locale_from_accept_language_header" are enabled.
Admins can now edit translations in different languages without having to change their locale. We display a warning when there's a fallback language set.
A while ago we made a change to display a warning after installing a theme component when the admin tries to leave the page without adding the new installed component to any themes (see 5e29ae3ef5).
However there is an edge case that we forgot to address, and that's when an admin installs a component and then immediately opens the install modal again to install another one which can result in the warning being shown twice at the same time.
This PR prevents that by showing the warning when opening the install modal if the conditions are met (new component and not added to any themes) instead of showing it after installing the second component.
Installing multiple copies of the same theme/component is possible, but you rarely need to actually have multiple copies installed. We've seen many times new admins installing duplicates of components because they were unaware it was already installed. This PR makes the theme installer modal loop through the existing themes when you click on 'install', and if there is a theme with a URL that matches the URL you entered, a warning will show up and you will need to click 'install' again to proceed.
We want to wrap the `Ember.run.debounce` function and internally call `Ember.run` instead when running tests.
This commit changes discourseDebounce to work the same way as `Ember.run.debounce`.
Now that `discourseDebounce` works exactly like `Ember.run.debounce`, let's replace it and only use `DiscourseDebounce` from now on.
Move debounce to discourse-common to be able to reuse it in different bundles

Being that system badges ship with every instance of Discourse, we've opted to define the name, description, and long description in our locales files to promote translation into other languages. When an admin visited the overview page of a system badge in their admin panel, they were met with disabled inputs for these text properties. The problem is that we failed to educate the admin that the text needs to be managed via the site text customization settings.
This change adds a small "Customize Text" link under theses inputs that takes the admin to the specific site text customization where they can make desired changes.
Force pushing a commit to a theme repository used to break the updater,
because the system was not able to count the commits behind the old and
new version. This operation failed because a force push deleted the old
commits.
The user was prompted with a simple "500 server error" message.
Themes marked for auto update will be automatically updated when
Discourse is updated. This is triggered by discourse_docker or
docker_manager running Rake task 'themes:update'.
Allowing the editing of remote themes has been something Discourse has advised against for some time. This commit removes the ability to edit or upload files to remote themes from Admin > Customize to enforce the recommended practice.
This makes it much easier to check the staff action logs for a specific site setting. A small history icon will appear when hovering over a site setting name. On click, you will be taken to the pre-filtered staff action log for the site setting.
Users could be silenced or suspended by two staff members at the same time and
would not be aware of it. This commit shows an error message if another penalty
has been applied.
We were trying to observe a non-ember object which is undefined
behavior and was leaking to odd bugs. This replaces the `filter` object
with an Ember Object and things seem to work.
Prior to this fix, weekly could be 8 days and we could have differences between period chooser text and actual results in the chart.
A good followup to this PR would be to add custom date ranges in period-chooser component.
